This album will be appealing to an easy-on-the ear country fan. Here’s 14 honky tonk gems from the very talented gal from Australia (now based in the UK) who records in Nashville. Her music challenges-and-cheers so I gladly recommend accordingly. Tried-and-tested (in more ways than one), her musical statement is ‘direct-to-the-point’ with MOR country backing that is broad in appeal, smooth and engaging. There’s no overworked songs but mainly self-penned repertoire in a style that is distinctive; well worked ballads, mature like seasoned wine, the class that comes only with poetic artistry and hard-worked ardor.
